It all started off with Wild Side Pioneer, Rob Genier filming a quick little dance video on webcam for the sheer enjoyment of having fun. This all took place one summer night back in August 2008. Shortly after this video was recorded, Rob's real life close friends Anthony and Ashley Gatto thought to roughly edit the video and put bits and pieces of the video together for YouTube. We knew we had something in store that we would enjoy to continue. We just needed a name for this new production we were creating. We brainstormed for a while and eventually Ashley came up with the name Wild Side Productions, getting the name "Wild Side" from a Motely Crue song.
From here, it all began. Over time, we gradually increased our production by gaining more members, ideas, quality, and views. We've gained and lost talent over this period of time. Although it was tough to replace one, we always gained another. Until this very day, changes are still occuring.
The video that started it all is known as "Rob Tribute". After that video set the stone, it inspired fellow Wild Side Pioneers Louis LeeFeaver, Lee Grant, and Shelby Come to continue the streak of dance videos. That lead the path for many dance videos, recorded on webcam, and eventually dance videos recorded on digital camera.
In need of some spice and something furthur than dance videos, Louis and Shelby brought the idea of making a skit with actual dialouge to the table. We weren't sure how it was going to turn out, but we were willing to try a new idea. Surely enough, we liked how the finished product of Halloween 1, our first skit, came out. That opened the door to a new chapter for us. That idea lead us to not only new ideas and schemes, but major role improvements, skills, communication, and more enjoyable diversity on and off set. Though we had our new priorities, filming skits and all, we did not forget about the dance videos. From viewing results, we knew that our skits definitely had the popular demand by the people and fans. We continued filming and views kept rising. From months on end, we continued filming new skits. We again felt like we needed something new to intrigue people by.
Having difficulties with our technology wasn't easy, nor did it help things elevate. We've been on a rollercoaster from day one to where we are today. There were up sides and down sides to various aspects in our production. A major problem was our movie editor on the computer. We had problems with Windows Media Maker. After having enough of that program, we decided to purchase brand new movie maker program. We've made major improvements in terms of technology. We went from webcam video recording, to digital camera, to a newely bought high definition camera.
We have been though our share of actors and members. Some have remained loyal from the first day they started, until this very day. Others weren't so loyal, and were either released by Wild Side Productions, or just quit for whatever personal reason they had. We have on and off actors. Some members come occasionally and work for us, and then there are always our main stars.
Thinking back from day one to this day, we have made quite a journey, not just for the cast and crew, but for the fans as well. We would be nothing without the cast and crew standing by us and the fans supporting us. We thank everyone who is/was a part of Wild Side Productions for getting us where we are today and we hope to furthur our career.
